The Context

El Barrio, meaning “Neighbourhood” in Spanish - is a fun and colorful restaurant, bar and two terraces (including a rooftop one!) that serves up casual Mexican food like tacos, fajitas, nachos, as well as various sharing plates and a number of cocktails or tequilas. The menu at El Barrio is made up of Mexican dishes combined with modern ingredients and presentation techniques. Signature dishes include nachos with homemade tortilla chips.

Working with El Barrio started with its beginning. The aim was to maintain existing visual identity sometimes brining new elements to it.

Understanding

Working in intense collaboration with the founders, head of marketing I had a chance to get a full understanding of business, find out about culture and cuisine of a modern Mexico. 

Design Challenge

Maintain existing VI, creating new VI elements while honoring the culture and cuisine of a modern Mexico, forgoing the typical colors and stereotypes associated with Mexican dining.

My Role

1. Developing marketing materials according to the brand’s core values.
2. Make sure that there is a consistency across multiple marketing and advertising mediums.
3. Improve existing visual identity to be more effective and to enhance perception of the brand.

Both Food and drinks menu are filled with delicious options, that's why the main accent was put on the pictures.
The menus are divided into logical sections, dishes are arranged in logical groups.
Color options and typography are associated with Mexican cuisine.

Custom labels

El Barrio is very picky about the details. That is why custom labels for barrels were created.

Both Negroni labels, La Rojena Negroni and Beijing Negroni, reflect El Barrio indentity.

El Barrio together with NAP or on its own organizes various events inside, or on the beautiful terrace, or the rooftop.
Also, there are always some promotions to attract customers.
